Groovy Burger — UX Design

Customer Mobile App & Restaurant Admin Dashboard

Overview

Groovy Burger's visual identity was extended into two connected digital products: a mobile ordering experience for customers and an operations dashboard for restaurant staff. The challenge was to keep one recognizable brand while supporting two very different tasks and levels of information density.

Design Challenge

Users & Needs

Customers

Browse the menu, compare options, review an order, and complete checkout with minimal friction on a mobile device.

Restaurant Staff

Monitor active orders, see status changes, manage menu items, and review operational information from one dashboard.

Customer Journey

  1. Set location
  2. Browse menu
  3. View product
  4. Review order
  5. Complete

Mobile Ordering App

The mobile experience uses large touch targets, short decision steps, strong product imagery, and a persistent visual hierarchy. Red is reserved for primary actions and important status cues.

Restaurant Admin Dashboard

The desktop dashboard supports a different mode of work: scanning multiple orders, understanding current status, and moving between operational views. The left navigation connects eight areas including Dashboard, Order List, Customers, Menu Items, Reports, Drivers, Analytics, and Settings.

Design Principles

One Brand, Two Contexts The same color and visual language adapt to a friendly mobile interface and a denser operational workspace.
Clear Status Color, labels, grouping, and hierarchy work together so users do not have to rely on color alone.
Focused Actions Primary actions stay prominent while secondary controls remain available without competing for attention.

Outcome & Learnings

The project demonstrates how a visual identity can grow into a product system. Designing both customer and staff experiences highlighted the need to preserve brand recognition while adjusting navigation, information density, and interaction patterns for each user's goals.
